Dear All,

At 17:30 local time on Monday May 12th 2008, I spoke to Captain Alex Greenson as he was heading out the channel of Auckland Harbour having just cleared customs. His next stop is Papeete, Tahiti, French Polynesia - roughly 2200 miles away.

This marks the culmination of an extraordinary design, construction and commissioning process that through the tremendous efforts of so many, has resulted in a beautiful, well-built and seaworthy yacht.

Alex was in high spirits when we spoke. He reported that everything on board was well, that the crew were getting set for a successful delivery - and Nivea had a nice pot of curry on the stove…

This is an exciting milestone in the life of the Angel project.
